Here’s the gameday timeline for IU football’s home opener, overview of concession options (2024)

The 2024 IU football season kicks off in Bloomington on Saturday afternoon.

This year’s edition of Hoosier football will feature a gameday experience that blends the familiar with several new additions to the lineup.

Below is an overview of the timeline for gameday at Memorial Stadium, along with a summary of the new concession options, and where to find everything.

All times are Eastern and specific to the Saturday opener vs. Florida International.

9 a.m. – Parking lots open. Hoosier fans will have plenty of time to tailgate. Be sure to check out the unique points of interest at the four main gates.

1 p.m. – B-Town Boulevard opens. The lawn south of Memorial Stadium along with a neighboring portion of Miller Plaza has been transformed into a festival-like atmosphere with the unveiling of B-Town Boulevard. This space will open 2 ½ hours before kickoff, and is open to all ticket holders as well as the general public. This new space will feature: a concert stage with live bands; food trucks; an outdoor bar; family-friendly games; IU Team Store with IU merchandise; and other IU-related attractions. 1:15 p.m. – The Walk and gameday rally. This tradition continues as the players and coaches walk from the Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall to Memorial Stadium and greet the fans along the way.

2 p.m. – Stadium gates open. Adventurous fans can go in early and check out Memorial Stadium from almost any vantage point.

2 p.m. – Hoosier Red Zone opens. The Hoosier Red Zone is a family-friendly pre-game area located between Sections 13-20 on the main concourse. It offers food, drinks, and plan-to-win games and other fun activities before the game. All of the area’s fan favorite games will be back this fall, along with a handful of new offerings that fans of all ages are invited to try out!

3 p.m. – Marching Hundred Band pregame show. Indiana University’s famed Marching Hundred is the product of a tradition which dates back to the organization of the first band at Indiana in 1896

3 p.m. – Don Fischer’s pregame radio show. The legend returns for his 52nd season on the call. Returning to the booth to join Fischer will be Buck Suhr.

3:30 p.m. – Kickoff vs. FIU. The Curt Cignetti era officially begins.

NEW CONCESSION OPTIONS

Once inside the stadium, IU fans will find a completely updated variety of concession options on gameday.

Indiana has partnered with Levy to create a new food and beverage experience across all athletic venues. Fans will enjoy new signature menu offerings, favorite local restaurants, quick and convenient grab & go destinations, and elevated premium hospitality on Hoosier game days.

Memorial Stadium brings a taste of B-Town to game day

  • Levy and IU have curated a familiar selection of Bloomington’s favorite establishments to serve fans across the Memorial Stadium concourse
    • BuffaLouie’sserves-up its famous Buffalo wings and an Indiana Pork Tenderloin Sandwich at a new concessions destination in the North End Zone at Section 17
    • Yogi’sgrills-up its fan favorite smashburgers with seasoned kettle chips at an all-new grill cart near Section 25
    • Aver’sdishes-out signature 8-inch personal pizzas at Section 24, including their famous Cream & Crimson pizza along with the traditional cheese
    • Social Cantinafeatures hand-crafted street tacos, including beef and pork, as well as loaded nachos at Section 3
    • Chocolate Moose’sfamous ice cream will be available in half-pints at Section 16
  • Levy brought a chef’s touch to fan favorite dishes throughout the stadium with several new signature menu offerings only available on IU game days
    • Indiana Sausage Hauslocations plate-up a lineup of custom crafted sausages in partnership with Smoking Goose, including its Caraway and Kölsch Bratwurst, a collaboration with Indy’s own Daredevil Brewing featuring a whole hog pork sausage with caraway, white pepper, mace, and VacationKölsch. Available at multiple locations across the concourse.
    • The Footlong Hoosier Dog, IU’s new signature menu item for football game days, will feature a footlong half-pound all-beef hot dog, topped with Indiana sweet creamed corn relish, pulled pork, and corn nuts. Available at Indiana Sausage Haus locations, Kirkwood Eats and Fan Favs.
    • B-Town BBQ Chip Stack, a mouthwatering stack of pulled pork, queso, sour cream, green onion, and jalapeños atop a bed of house-made kettle chips. Available at Victory Flag BBQ near Section 29.
  • Concessions dining destinations across the stadium have been renovated, with fresh concepts and signage making it easier for fans to find their favorite game day food and drinks

Expanded grab & go markets across multiple venues add speed and convenience

  • A total of 9 new grab & go markets have been added this year across all athletic venues
  • Memorial Stadium will feature markets near Sections 2, 8, 10, 22, 28 and 30; and Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall will have new markets located in sections C, J, and North Court Level
  • New this year, all grab & go markets will offer automated self-checkout, allowing fans to grab their favorite food and beverage, and seamlessly checkout to get back to the action faster than ever
  • Menu offerings will include an expanded variety of hot food such as hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, and Papa John’s pizza, as well as popcorn, candy, chips and peanuts. Assorted bottled soda, water and a mix of domestic and locally crafted beers from Upland Brewery will also be available.
